In the closest finish possible, Commodore Tony Zussino sailing TNT edged out Aaron Farrar sailing Grungle for the 2014 Series 3 Handicap Title by one solitary point after all discards were calculated.
Farrar who carried a handy lead into the last race meet of the series had to defend from the shoreline as due to family commitments couldn’t be there to race. This left Zussino with the chance to overtake but only with a solid effort on the day.
With 7 boats sailing in the final race of the year, Zussino’s efforts in blustery conditions were enough for him to seal back to back Handicap Series wins for the year. Farrar had to settle for second with Ian McKay sailing the newly renamed Tomato Sloop into third 11 points further back.
