The 2008 year came to a close in early December and the small and close knit club had a last race and social BBQ to celebrate what was a great year for the club. New boats, successfully run regattas and new members topped off by close racing made for an excellent year.

Longtime members, Dave Laurie, Mark Hardy and Grant Cooper ALL decided to upgrade their machines simultaneously and as luck had it - all got their new boats to sail on the same weekend.

Dave Harris and Grant Cooper took to the road and travelled to Townsville for the North Queensland IOM Titles. The Townsville Club doesn't sail IOM's but to ensure there is a NQ event, all the members pitch in to host the event. Skippers have travelled from the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Bundaberg, Gladstone, Mackay and the Whitsundays to create a 16 boat strong fleet.
