Well, the 2011 sailing season is now a distant memory with the Club Champions decided and presented with their trophies at the end of season presentation night.

Our Series 3 Scratch Champion was Grant Cooper sailing 'The Spudge' while Dave Laurie's new Lincoln McDowell 'Blitz' design (2nd) gathered enough points to overhaul Steve Bray's 'Jet Fish' into 3rd.

Grant Cooper

On the Handicap front, it was a little more keenly contested with Laurie Donahoe's 'Hobo' and Steve Bray's 'Jet Fish' locked in a ding dong battle to the end. In fact, to was only clear who was going to win after the very last race of the season. John Matthews was consistent through the series to take third, but watch out next year, the former series Handicap winner has vowed to be back bigger, faster and has been overheard talking about a new boat…….. we wait in anticipation!Laurie Donohoe

This year was the first time we decided to find an over all Handicap & Scratch Champions from the sum of all series. It was scored simply on the three overall series placings to see who was the fairest & best of the season.

Congratulations to….

Scratch Overall 2011 Champion - Dave Laurie (1,2,2)

Handicap Overall 2011 Champion - Laurie Donohoe (1,7,1)

Thanks for all that made this year the biggest fleets in GRCYC History and we hope you all return for 2012.

Next event AGM - stay tuned.
